Somehow I blinked and June and July disappeared. I realized recently that it has been two whole months since I sent one of these Lampstand Letters. Where did June and July go?! Anyone else feel me on this?! For me, they were full. Really full. Over the past couple of months, with the help of my amazing team, we launched 16 Creators Clubs. There have been supplies to order, projects to prep, spaces to coordinate, emails to send, people to lead, problems to solve, and so many l

Are you wanting to read the bible but you have no idea where to start? Or maybe you have tried in the past and just want to know how to read the bible better? ... Because just like any genre of literature there are good ways to read the Bible and not so good ways to read it! For example, you wouldn’t read a manual like you would read a non-fiction book, and you wouldn't read a textbook like you would read a dictionary. The same is true for reading the bible. As a Christ-follo

Earlier this year I began to think of all the “good” answers I had given recently to others who asked about how business was going. Most of those conversations started with genuine questions like this: “Is business booming lately for you?” “Are you staying really busy with Lovely Little Light?” “Have you gotten a lot of orders lately?” “Has the workshop sold out for you?” “Do you have so many bookings right now?” And my answer to them all was honestly, “no.” . But instead of

This week I was prompted to think about what the Lord has taught me through month 5 of pregnancy but more deeply what he has taught me about his purpose for all of us as women (mom or not). And ooff, the page suddenly filled up with a lengthly list. Here are the top five that I was able to elaborate on and feel deeply in this season: 1. God’s timing is perfect every time. We got married in October and found out we were pregnant in December but there was a time in my life a

Song is a powerful instrument because it is so basic to the allegiance of your heart. Worship songs for believers to walk in the light.

Creativity doesn’t have to be something you express only on the weekends or during off-time—it’s an essential part of anyone’s professional

I make things for a living. I get paid to start from nothing and come up with something new. Sometimes it is a logo, apparel, a mural, or even a workshop outline. And honestly, it feels amazing…every…single…time. But more than that, when I was a teacher, I was a creator too! I would create lesson plans from ideas on how I can best serve my students. I would pull in elements from their everyday life to best connect their life experiences to what I wanted them to learn. When I

So how do you slow down in a world that asks you to keep moving? How do you be content in a world that wants your continually improvement?

"The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light." Romans 13:12 (ESV) A few years ago, I participated in a "mud run" with my middle school students. Mud and running are two things at the bottom of my list of favorites. Soon after we began running, my shoes and clothes became heavy with mud, which made running and even walking difficult and quite frankly pretty gross. That feeling is a lot like works of dar

She asked how I was doing - and for some reason my fake “good” just wasn’t going to cut it anymore. I couldn’t keep it together any longer. I broke down and told her what no one else knew I was walking through. And when I sat there on my bed, with the phone in my hand, crying my eyes out, she said words to me that I would’ve never expected but that will stick with me forever. After she listened to what I was going through, she gently asked me, “What is the worst thing that c

As I share what I have learned in looking at each attribute of the Fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control) my hope is that we can fix our eyes on a God who is the SOURCE of those attributes and as we do that we can desire him more deeply as we know him more fully. As we do this we are naturally drawn more deeper into a posture of willingness to make us more like Him. Therefore, we fix our eyes on HIM and bec

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22 (ESV) How do we rightly understand the fruit the Spirit bears in us? Now that we understand the context of Galatians and of chapter five (see my last blog post), it is important for us to correctly understand the fruit that only the Spirit can bring forth. It was said in a podcast that I listened to that

Through a conversation with a friend of mine, I explained to her that God had laid it on my heart to create a collection of handmade goods fully lettered by me to teach the gospel. She said immediately that it would be really fun to create a Fruit of the Spirit collection. This conversation happened in December. Six months later, I am elated to bring you the Lovely Little Light Fruit of the Spirit Collection. When starting this collection in February, I wanted to be intention
